The First Shots Program is Here!
Written for Premier by Tommie Rowland
Premier Shooting & Training Center is now partnering with the NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation) to bring you “First Shots”.
Have you thought about learning to shoot but were unsure where to start? Do you want your child and the entire family to be comfortable and knowledgeable around firearms? The biggest challenge is just getting started. First Shots is the easy “first step” to getting there.
First Shots an Introduction to Shooting. Learning to shoot is fun, and can be shared by the entire family safely, and securely here at Premier!
We know everyone has a different level of anxiety when it comes to firearms and shooting for the first time, but learning to shoot does not have to be intimidating! First Shots is a program designed for beginners and at Premier, we are starting with .22 rifles in an easy, fun shooting environment. Before we go out on the range, you’ll be taught the necessary safety, and shooting fundamentals that help you, and your family, feel comfortable on the range. During the hands-on portion of First Shots training, our trained Range Safety Officers (RSOs) will ensure that everyone is operating their provided firearm according to our range safety guidelines.
The first session of First Shots will be hosted on July 28, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm in partnership with the NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation http://www.nssf.org).
During this session, you’ll get all your questions answered!
In First Shots, we will cover:
- Firearm Safety
- Shooting Fundamentals
- Hands on Instruction
First shots provide recreational shooters with the chances to learn the rules and requirements of handgun ownership along with comprehensive information on safety, shooting sports opportunities, individual and group training and range access.
Beginners who take First Shots will get more bang for your buck, because you can get all this training, practically free!
Registration is $25.00 per person but everyone is given a $25.00 gift certificate and Premier swag bag on arrival. To register, call Kellie Wilson at 513 32-5840 ext. 156, or use the link below!
Beyond First Shots, Premier offers a full range of firearm training, unarmed training, and Martial Arts all while located on a beautiful fishing lake. We look forward to having you meet our staff, and spend time in our facility!
Other Introductory level Training at Premier:
Critical Casualty Care Level 1 and Level 2
Critical Casualty Care Level One focus on basic emergency medical skills. Training includes an overview of basic First Aid, Airway Management, functioning in Extreme Stress Situations, and Bleeding Control with an emphasis on tourniquet use. You will be taught how to apply a tourniquet to yourself, a child, or an older adult.
We always train to proficiency, not to time. A strong emphasis will be on mass casualty care and triage.
Critical Casualty Care Level 2 will build upon the skills learned in the Level 1 course with a more hands-on approach.
Situational Awareness Practical Self Defense Level 1 & Level 2
Self-Defense Level 1 Being aware of your surroundings, identifying potential threats and dangerous situations is the first steps of personal self-defense. You will learn how to recognize a threat, control your distance, and use posture and verbal skills to diffuse a potential situation.
You will be introduced to the physical skills and techniques of self-defense and to learn to “trust your gut”.
Self-Defense Level 2 In this class you will expand your physical skills, learning proper strikes and kicks to vital areas. You will be escaping holds, grabs and casing injuries to larger opponents. Students will use full-force techniques against and instructor in protective gear. The pre-requisite for this course is Level 1.
